About the role

Reporting to theAirside Support Unit(ASU)Team Manager, the ASU Operativeis responsible forproviding a great service, by providing an efficient coaching operation to all airport users, as well as working interactively with the Duty Team.

About the Recruitment Process

Interviews are to be held in person on the 17th of July with our Airside Operations Resilience Manager, an ASU Team Manager and member of the HR team. It will be a competency based interview to discuss your experience and motivations in applying for the role.

What you'll be doing

  • You will drive the ambulift vehicle transporting passengers of reduced mobility (PRM) on the airfield. You may be asked to driveand operate multiplevehicles / equipmentwithin ourfleet including aviramp, coaches, sweepers, trolley vehicles and winter operations vehicleswhen you have the relevant training and category of licence for that vehicle / equipment
  • You will be required to assist with the moving / lifting of PRM passengers upon completion of relevant training
  • You will be required to secure the wheelchairs in the ambulift for passengers who cannot move onto ambulift seat and must remain in their wheelchairs for transportation. A seatbelt will also be required to be secured for the passenger to ensure passenger safety
  • Carry out Airside/Landside sweeping to meet H&S and CAA Requirements
  • Ensure SLA, SOP’s, CEN, CED and TBT are read and understood
  • Carry out snow clearing duties during winter operations
  • Beable to act on their own initiative and prioritise their work; monitor andliaisewith ground handling agents and other Airport users to provide an efficientAmbulift/coachingoperation.
  • Assistwhenrequiredwith allocation of coaching, sweeping,Ambuliftjobs etc, as and whenrequired, with the aid of the IT systems in place

  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years
  • We are open 365 days per year and are a 24 hour operation, so applicants must be able to work shifts
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT skills (successful candidates will be required to use our systems including but not limited to IAuditor, e-learning and our intranet Gate 8)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Full UK driving license
  • Applications MUST hold the CAT C license - you will be asked to upload this as part of the application process. CAT D and CAT C+E are desirable and you may be expected to work towards these if you are successful in applying for this role
  • Applicants must hold a current Certificate of Professional Competence.

  • Uniform and PPE is to be worn at all times
  • Ensure no misuse of ID and driving permit, within the boundaries of the Airside pass procedure
  • Ensure any issues with your DVLA driving license is flagged up to the relevant people, in this case your team manager
